Mold Inspections

The most common and reliable way to test for mold spores in the air is through non-viable air sampling. This is also called a “spore trap analysis”. A trained indoor environmental professional such as Coast To Summit Home Inspections LLC will collect samples of air, using a calibrated air pump. The air will be collected onto non-viable mediums, called cassettes. We also offer tape, and swab method to collect samples of potential microbial growth on surfaces to be sent to the lab. We can go further into a assessment  by using technology such as Borescope Inspections. Borescope inspections are a type of visual inspection that can examine hard-to-reach or inaccessible components without taking them apart or damaging them, and can examine the area by using our infrared technology. This is a ancillary service to add to your inspection, or a stand alone offering if you are already a home owner concerned about the air quality in your home.
